Bahariya Oasis
Bahariya Oasis is one of the most attractive places in Egypt. It is located in the heart of the Egyptian western desert, and at just 365km from Cairo. It consists of many villages, of which El Bawiti is the largest and the administrative center. Much of the oasis floor is covered by sprawling shady date palms and speckled with dozens of natural springs. The surrounding landscape of rocky, sandy mesas is a grand introduction to the Western Desert’s barren beauty.
In Bahariya Oasis dates production is the backbone of its economy. Other agricultural products are guavas, mangos, and olives.
